Surfers Beach

Tucked away down an unassuming side street identified only by a surfboard shaped wooden sign nailed to a light post is Surfers Beach located on the island of Eleuthera. As the name would suggest, this beach located on the Atlantic side of the island is a go to for surfers, both local and those that have traveled from abroad. However, do not let the name of this
beach intimidate you if you are not an adrenaline junkie. All are welcome here.

Like most of the beautiful places on the island of Eleuthera, Surfers Beach takes some effort to get to but is well worth the trek. If travelling by vehicle, a 4-wheel drive is highly recommended
and there’s a chance that how wet the sandy “road” is will determine how far you get before its time to start walking. The best way to know if you are getting close is to simply follow the sound of the ocean.

As you peak over the top of the sandy cliff, be prepared to have your breath taken away by dramatic dark blue waves, a mild breeze and sugar white beaches. However, what makes Surfers Beach unique is a small group of shacks scattered throughout the beach. These structures lined with a random array of objects that have been left behind by previous visitors
serve as the perfect location to escape the sun and enjoy the view. So grab a car seat (not a typo, check out the pic), crack open a drink and enjoy the beauty of Surfers Beach.
