Dominical, Costa Rica

"Located on the Central Pacific coastline, Dominical offers 2.5 miles of rocky beach, lush rainforests and about 700 fun loving residents who call Dominical home."

This location inspired the making of SeaMonkey's Hula Gang collection.

When you think of surfers, hippies and quaint beach bars, Costa Rica is probably not the first place that comes to mind. However, providing all of that in a single location is the quirky beach town, Dominical. Located on the Central Pacific coastline, Dominical offers 2.5 miles of rocky beach, lush rainforests and about 700 fun loving residents who call Dominical home.

Once you manage to arrive at the "parking lot", you will find it lined with hammocks and camper vans with people who have no intention of leaving anytime soon. Don't let this intimidate you, these were some of the most welcoming people we have met. Though known for surfing, Dominical is home to some really great bars and restaurants that had us visiting here multiple times during our trip. You will also find the street lined with tables with locals selling a unique and eclectic mix of homemade goods that you will only find in Dominical.

Costa Rica is home to some of the most beautiful places and Dominical is no different. Though it is less 'rugged' than some other areas of Costa Rica, you still feel like you are in a distant, faraway place (which is why you are there, right?). Whether you are an avid surfer, looking for an ice-cold beverage or just want to mingle with some of the locals, Dominical is definitely worth a stop when in Costa Rica.
