Our brand was created because of the beautiful places we have experienced throughout the world. So, it only seems right that we do our part to reduce our impact on the planet so that future generations can be inspired by the same places that made SeaMonkey Apparel a reality. Yes, we still have a lot of work to do but we promise to always keep our planets wellbeing in the forefront of the SeaMonkey story.
Mote Marine Lab & Aquarium Partnership
Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is an independent, nonprofit marine research institution comprising world-class marine scientists committed to the belief that the conservation and sustainable use of our oceans begins with research and education. From their humble beginnings in a tiny, one-room laboratory in a small Florida town, their efforts have grown to include more than 20 diverse marine research programs.
SeaMonkey Apparel has partnered with Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium and has pledged to donate $1 of every sale to their various causes.
Over 9.2 billion tons of plastic have been produced, of which only 9 percent has been recycled properly. On top of that, it can take anywhere between 20 and 500 years for plastic to decompose. In order to tackle this,
SeaMonkey Apparel has committed to utilizing 100% recycled mailers and tissue paper when shipping our product.
The fashion industry produces over 2 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide into the planet every year. In order to reduce this trend, SeaMonkey Apparel is currently testing the development of product with natural and sustainable materials with a goal of this accounting for atleast 50% of our offering by 2030. Beach Clean Ups
Between 4 and 12 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean each year which is enough to cover every foot of coastline on the planet. We believe we have a duty to maintain the very places that have brought us together and who better to ask for help from then our very own SeaMonkey Tribe. We will host regular Beach Clean Up's with locations, dates and times being provided on our social media page and to those on our email list. If you have not done so already, we encourage you to join our tribe using the sign up below.
